Evaluation

For this project we was given free roam to make any thing we wanted, whether it be a magazine a brand or a poster campaign. This meant we had to make our own brief stick to it.
I think my project turned out rather well as I managed to create a well designed graphical surfing/music magazine, If I was going to change anything it would most likely be the free space I have on some pages, I say this because my overall design was to keep the magazine graphical but informative at the same time and I just felt that in some places pages could have been filled with a bit more type.
I got my magazine printed on a professional standard which I think really boosted the style of the magazine as it made it look a lot more synthetic and the real deal, maybe next time I would have got the magazine printed on lighter paper.
I felt one of the major things I could of improved on would have been my timekeeping as if I had a more structured time plan I could of effectively compiled more pages to go in my magazine.
I think one of my strong points was that it was a surfing magazine as using images of surfing was really fun to work with using huge images of monster waves worked well in my opinion I think this was one of the main things that made me enjoy this project, another thing I enjoyed about this project was being able to make it about anything thing I wanted I.e. music that I enjoyed.
Over all I think my project related to my brief that I had started with and I’m happy with my final outcome.

I think this website will help to see what sort of alternative magazines use in there DPS layouts and how they do it to create interesting and complex DPS's

TYLER THE CREATOR
This guy is a major influence on alternative hip hop in this era making himself stand out against major artist of today, what i like about this artist and why i want to use him in my magazine is because of how out spoken he is, aswell is how honest he is about just being in music to try and make money from what hes doing with ambition of getting on MTV and making it.

contrasting font

The font here is a well recognised one from the Disney franchise which most people see as a warm and childlike font as when i look at it, it reminds me of my childhood and when i went to disneyland, on the other hard the words written in the font "die" are quite the opposite and make us think of death and pain which is why i think this is a powerful image.

shark

The image above of a shark and a kid on a surfboard are very conflicting as many people who see sharks judge them as viscous man eating creatures, but seeing a shark next to this child grabs attention making us think what happened after this photo was taken and is the kid alright.
